 Beolab 8000 MK2

The Beolab 8000 speaker’s technical specifications remained untouched until the MKII version was released in January 2003 (as from serial numbers 16992475) when it was manufactured with newer driver units which delivered extra bass reproduction at low listening levels.

Not quite on a par with a sub-woofer per se, BeoLab 8000 nevertheless had an audible improvement over its previous models. The upgrade of technology involved new frequency equalisation and an improved ABL system to allow the speaker to play deep bass at its most advantageous.

A tall column speaker shaped like a church organ and sitting upon a very small footprint, the curved minimalist design of BeoLab 8000 eliminated sharp edges or joints which could compromise sound quality. The speakers were magnetically shielded in order to be situated in close proximity to a television monitor.

A stunning pair of mint BeoLab 8000's MK2 in classic Alu / Black.

These beautiful pairs of BeoLab 8000 shown in classic aluminium with black frets fitted. In mint condition and full working order, a truly stunning example. These powerful speakers don't only look drop dead gorgeous but the sound quality is amazing.

 Beolab 8000 MK1

There's not much point in thinking about BeoLab 8000 in terms of watts, woofers or tweeters. There has never been loudspeakers that look like this - or so clear and rich a sound produced from such slender cabinets. BeoLab 8000 represents both the engineering skills as well as the design capabilities from Bang & Olufsen. Nobody has ever built a speaker with such little net volume, only 5,3 litres, with such an impressive sound. As with all modern B&O speakers, the 8000s are active, meaning that each element has its own amplifier. In fact, each speaker holds two amplifier units.

The biggest advantage in separating the amplifiers is that it enables the loudspeakers the ability to obtain maximum sound pressure from each element without distortion.  There's no great secret to creating good speakers - but they do (normally) have to be big. When it comes to speakers, one of the driving forces behind Bang & Olufsen's product development is combining the most modern of technology with good aesthetics.

Beolab 6000

The choice is simple - you can fill your home with big black boxes, or you can make a stand with BeoLab 6000 and fill it with beautiful sound and beautiful looks. Formed from a single piece of aluminum, BeoLab 6000 is shaped to stand out from its surroundings, but colored to match any Bang & Olufsen audio or video setup. With a height of just 110cm and a depth of 10cm, finding space for a pair of BeoLab 6000 speakers is never going to be a problem. Its superior sound capabilities ensure that its performance will never dictate your placement options.

When it comes to sound reproduction we believe there's only one relevant parameter: How close can we come to the originally recorded sound. We feel an obligation not to disturb the intentions of the artist by adding unnatural elements to the acoustic image. Therefore, all Bang & Olufsen loudspeakers share the same goal. They differ in size and shape and in terms of sound pressure level. But they are all developed to reproduce the natural, unaltered sound as closely as possible "

Beolab 4000 MK2

BeoLab 4000 had a long and successful history with the company.  Introduced in the mid-1990s the speakers were novel when they were first sold in their unusual ‘leaf-shaped’ (or piscine) design and colored aluminum bodies. They were originally sold for use with the BeoSound Ouverture / BeoSound 3000 music systems but could be used within any modern Bang & Olufsen master unit which were fitted with necessary Power Link connectors.

Their unusual design ensured optimal heat transfer away from the speaker units, even when placed within a bookshelf.  The single-piece aluminum construction made the speaker not only light and robust, but it eliminated dissonance problems caused by joints and corners in normal speaker cabinets.  59W of music power was obtained from each unit and Adaptive Bass Linearization (ABL) was utilized to enhance bass reproduction.

Beolab 2 Active Subwoofer

BeoLab 2 Subwoofer: Put yourself at the eye of the storm and enjoy a new sound experience. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better - it does. The BeoLab 2 subwoofer has only one purpose: to exploit the new world of sound that Digital technology has opened up. Sit back, hold on tight - and experience a deep bass sensation you only thought possible at the cinema or concert hall. BeoLab 2 is the latest (2001) member of the loudspeaker family and has been specially designed to handle the low end of the sound spectrum. It completes your surround set-up and allows you to experience details in movies and music that you've never heard before. It just about as good as bass gets!
